I'm always confused when someone asks' for help and opinions, then turns a little venomous when the feedback is not what they want to hear.

Owned a car since I was 13. It's my avatar. I hydroplaned my senior year, took out railroad tie H-post, 75 feet of 5 strand barbed wire fence, and corresponding wood posts in that car. I did most all the body work and had it painted and have 15-20K in it with drivetrain mods, couple motor builds, paint, interior, blah blah blah. At one time I'd never have considered selling the car. However, looking back to the times before I invested so much money and time in it, I'd been better off to have parted what I could and crush the rest and put it into something else.

On a different note, the injection pump crapped in my cummins again almost 4 weeks ago. The bricks been my daily since then with the cummins and mustang both down. First time it's seen snow in at least 11+ years. Most dependable ride I own.

Point being, when it comes to your safety and a money standpoint, you gotta know when to draw the line. No one can decide this for you, it's up to you. You gotta be able to live with the consequences whether good or bad.

A strut tower is part of the unibody structure. It can be fixed, but it isn't a do it yourself kind of job.

I would get a payday loan, Sears credit card, and take it to Sevice King. Shouldn't be more than $5-6K.

(real) bodyshops fix this stuff all of the time. Replacing an apron is a days worth of work. How long does it take to swap a whole car over to another? If you already have a donor car it is nothing a little drilling and welding won't fix. While it is down it is also no biggie to pull the other tower if it is in and it will be better than before. If done correctly no one will ever know. I am not asking for the work just saying it is not that hard.

You said if the repairs were under 3500 you'd fix it. For 3000 you can get a clean, straight, caged, suspensioned roller.
