I didn't know. He had a name change? If so, what a waste of a thread...

If done correctly no one will ever know. I am not asking for the work just saying it is not that hard.
      Agreed. 100%.

I've fixed cars worse than that..without the aid of a frame machine or anything other than basic tools - all of which aligned fine after the repair.

Some of you guys are crazy saying to swap the parts into a donor car. It's just the fucking strut tower, not the whole front end! shit!

Since a couple of you have fessed up to the tags - The remaining offenders are TENGREM, DENNY and openroadracer

If you have something to say, don't use the tags.

Brooks, you know what your doing, and can do it yourself for on the cheap probably. I think what we are trying to say is the cost for a shop might not make it worth it.

It's not really "knowing what I am doing" but more along the lines of taking time and doing it right. Anyone with a welder, drill, cut off wheels and some time can fix it. There's LOTS of reference points for measurement to get the car back to 'good as new' condition.

This could be fixed in a day with the proper mindset, I just don't subscribe to the mindset of scrapping the car over this. He doesn't even have to take it to a high end body shop... You'd be suprised how easy it gets with the fender(s) off and all the extra crap out of the way.

I realize that but, you know everyone that opened the thread facepalmed.

I'd be devistated if that happened to my pride and joy too but I'd be expecting to take a bunch of shit from my friends. If I posted it on DFWM I would damn sure expect to get jacked with.

                Sorry about your car Mike.

This is a good point Brooks, I am sure he is/was heart broken about the car. I try to not get into the typical DFWmustangs b.s. drama and I have remained silent in his many "knucklehead"ed post thus far, but after reading where Sean saw him hauling ass and running red lights, then he post about wrecking in the ice (see post "Wrecked...lol"), it is hard to really feel sorry for the guy since he was obviously driving like a retard yet again. In my opinion it was only a matter of time until he tore that car up beyond repair or worse. Driving like an idiot on the street pisses me off more and more as I get older and have seen peoples life destroyed (my bro-in-law is an accident investigator for APD). I cant help but get a bit enraged having heard many of the stories, seen the pictures, etc. then come on here and he thinks it is funny that he's driving his shit box like he is a stunt man in a movie. I'd like to think this might be an eye-opening experience for him but I won't hold my breath.

lol, I didn't see any of his posts recently, or none that I've read...

But, FWIW, I just deleted all of the irrelevant posts to this thread except these last two... yes, even deleted my own.

                    Please, keep on topic.

I expect shit, its part of it.

I also got a lot of good information as well.

Btw, just because I don't agree with the advice given doesn't mean I didn't listen to it or pay attention to it. When I ask questions on here about stuff like this im not asking for you guys to make my decisions but to see what you guys would do. I ask for opinions rather then answers I guess.

I love my car, and I plan on fixing it. If I built and drove a car just to sell it then I wouldn't be having much fun. There is alot of emotional attachment with my mustang. Through hell and back..

It will be repaired correctly and better then before. If you guys think it's clapped out or a shitbox, that's fine. But remember I didn't ask for your opinion of my car, I just asked how to fix it.

                      • I believe Ford still sells the Strut tower ass., if not it can be had aftermarket., the old one will have to cut out and the new one re-welded in. You will also have to have a new strut, new knuckle, LCA, bearings, wheel. A few more things are bent im sure, but those will get you started. Might as well get a pair of struts and a pair of caster camber plates, because you will need some adjustment im sure.

This is the way to do it right, that bullshit about cutting off the top and re-welding sheet metal is called 'jig rigging' and will be a temporary fix, if you care about the car like you say you do, fix it right...

                        • BTW this is 'Jig Rigging' someone took a junkyard strut tower and turned into a spring perch and made it fit, as you can clearly see, the geometry is way fucking off. And the second pic, you can see a FORD spring perch and then installed correctly.

This how I do my work, you want cheap and fast then you will get the first picture.

BTW Im only posting my work and not soliciting you car as im not taking any new customers, good luck junior...

I didn't think "can't fix stupid" was worthy of an actual reply. We can't use tags? Why are they here?

Sure, of course you can use tags -but insulting the kid is not relevant to the subject of the thread.
