WTH?!?! I only thought I was about to replace the rear brake shoes on my truck. Has anyone done this without this special tool? I haven't called O'Reilly's yet to see if they have it.
They suck, I don't use a special tool, I just pull the spring out with a small pair of channel lock style pliers. Fighting the parking brake cables is no fun as well. I've done several sets on customer vehicles. I did a set on a Cobalt yesterday.
It wasn't too bad using pliers. I had to get a second set of hands to hold the shoes at one point. Removing the parking brake cables on the driver side made it easier. Now if I can just figure out this other problem that came up. I have another thread in the Back Porch since that gets more traffic.
