  • Foxbody Oil Catch Can Setup

Anyone have a recommendation of a simple but effective oil catch can set up for a fox?

I just bought a car with a Vortech and they had a hose running from the pvc to the bottom of the intake and then it was also connected to the valve cover breather. That didn't work well at all! Do I need to have both valve covers vented or can I get by with just one?

    Thanks!

There are many ways to do this, from running a single 1/2" line to a catch can with a breather on top (minimal effort) to running a vacuum pump to pull a vacuum on the crankcase (maximum effort).

It really depends on a lot of things; blow-by creating too much crankcase pressure, causing oil leaks, etc; you could be pulling oil up from the valve cover into the blower.

If you want to make extra horsepower, save your oil seals from leaking, keep your oil cleaner by reducing the condensation, run a vacuum pump of some sort.

You may get by just fine with just a hose, try to go bigger like a -10an (5/8") or a -12an (3/4"), ran to a catch can with a breather up top. Keep an eye on how much oil you are getting in there though. You might need a better baffle in the vc.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
