Filling in holes, grinding down and sanding my entire engine bay to bare metal. Is there a product I can spray on the bare metal so surface rust doesn't form?? Once it's completely done I'm going to prime and paint my engine bay, then move onto the body. Let me know, thanks.

Use SPI Epoxy on bare metal. If you want to keep the flash rust until your ready, spray it with WD40. You just gotta make sure you clean all of it off. For the SPI , they have a specific cleaner to use. Avoid the self etch stuff, it causes problems with a lot of top coats and you can't put filler over it.

lol at the WD40, don't do that.
They have rattle can (aresol can) etching primer, once you get down to metal the rusting process starts, so before you apply it, scotchbrite/re-sand the panels before applying the etching primer...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

Currently looking to invest in a good paint gun. I've read a ton of good things about the iwata lph400. I have a couple cheap hf guns right now that I might just attempt to use for applying primer...idk. Unless someone knows a decently priced gun for applying primer?

Use the HF purple gun to shoot your epoxy.Tons of "real" paint guys use it.
Go lurk over at the SPI forum. Some real pro's in there and Barry the owner is an incredible wealth of knowledge .
I'm not a pro, but I love the SPI. Just finished shooting the entire floorpan on my 55 with it.
And Rick, I stripped some wheel wells a few months back. They're hosed down with WD40 until I'm ready to deal with them. No rust issues, but they will get a killer bath before coating. probably powder on those though.
