My ac is out. It doesn't just need Freon. Word is it needs a heating core? How much does that generally run?

A heater core doesn't make the AC work.

Your AC is out and you think you need a heater core? Did the folks at Autozone tell you this? Lol

Not low on refrigerant but it needs a condenser or evaporator? Not possible. The first thing you need to do is hook gauges to it and report readings with the ambient air temp. I usually jump the compressor relay to get a reading with compressor on also but not long if the pressures drop

I'd say that first part is possible, though unlikely. IF the compressor or the accumulator were to begin coming apart, it could restrict the condenser enough to have pressure issues and the system still have a full charge. -

Either way forget a car with no ac in Texas. I've done it and never again

Until gauges are put on the lines this thread is a waste of time!

I just bought the Car from my parents. I told them that didn't make sense. My dad said he took it to somewhere...

The "service engine soon" light is on and I took it by AutoZone and they said it the code thrown had to do with the PCV.

I don't know if that matters or not.

goto autozone and have them check the alternator
