  • Head gasket question

This might be a stupid question, but what diameter head gasket do I need for a 302 that is .030 over bore?

I would think 4.03, kind of surprised anyone gets that detailed with regard to gaskets.

Nothing seems to come up in a .030 version. Everything I see is .036,.039, or .041 and the such.

Is stock 4.100? Will it work?

No idea man. Just seems like going down to a couple thousands on a 306 is splitting hairs.

I agree. I think there should be a .030 offering but there isn't. .036 is the closest I see and it's of the cometic type. Highly expensive for a stock 306 IMO.

Sounds like you are looking at compressed thickness and not bore size. I believe the stock head gasket has a 4.100 bore hole. What is this for? Stock engine?
