  • 2016 6.7l powerstrokes in 5500 chassis?

Looking at buying a class c motor home for towing the racecars and was wondering if Ford fixed all the powerstroke issues. It will come with a warranty but would prefer not to have it at the shop all the damn time. Thanks.

those things are baller as fuck! They still have some issues in the C&C versions. I can alleviate all of them though... HMU!

Like what? This would have a warranty on the drive line and I'd have my 24' trailer behind it but would likely out less than 40k mikes on it 3 years.

      Glad you jumped in BTW.

I put zero faith in warranty when I can get a complete low mile pull-out replacement engine with turbo, fuel system, etc. for under $5k and can get it installed by a Ford Sr. Master technician for under $2k.

three months down time waiting for Ford to replace an injector or turbo isn't worth it to me.

The biggest problem with those trucks is that they're build on the chassis cab platform, so they get the tiny little turbo that is on the ragged edge at 300hp.

a 2015+ pickup model turbocharger and an ECM recalibration, and you're unstoppable.

Up until a couple weeks ago, I had no way to remap the 15+ ECM. I have it now. I venture I could turn that thing into 100% pickup spec calibration and have everything jive with all emissions equipment if that's what tickled your fancy. 100% OEM engine calibration. I would remap the trans shifting though. Firm it up, etc.

Seriously, those F550 based 6.7 C class units are the fucking shit. I want one. I'm unable and unwilling to un-ass the $80k+ for a 3-4yr old model

I would set it up right at about 425hp and let it breathe. Oh, and convert it to 4wd, obv

hmm, what I have found is a 2016, with 3100 miles that an oil company owner had to let go and not much more than that price you mentioned but I really don't want to put money into it which is great because you can finance like a second home AND get mortgage interest deductions.

Are we talking about putting take off parts/turbo from a 3500 on it and tuning it or does it need injectors and a bunch of other shit too?

only thing to swap would be the turbo. everything else is the same

and you could obviously just let it roll as-is, but I would LOVE to help you dial that thing in if you were so inclined

that's a steal on that rig considering he probably paid $125-150k 3100 miles ago

It's a really good deal but I just don't think we will use it enough to justify the expense. Sticker on it was around $130k and I could have it for $105-106 right now plus tt&l. Problem is I don't want to give up our 04 3500 with low miles which is clean and paid for just to jump into a $650/mo payment....but the deal is hard to pass up cause the thing is loaded with onan genset and like you said is baller as fuck..... Ugh...1st world problems.

Man, they are SO sweet, but if you're not going to be living in it for half of the time and you can't just stroke a check for it without batting an eye, we'll just have to live vicariously through folks with more money than we have
