  • Best 93 Octane stations?

I did some Mods* to the 5.0 and the tune is for 93. In the Cobra I use Chevron, but those stations are far and few inbetween fill ups , so I need to find consistent 93 octane, recommendations?

I saw a study a while back that someone did where QT was determined to be the best. Personally I think Shell should be but it was a close second behind QT in this test. I think it might have been posted on here.

I always try to use qt myself, even after a rumored watered down lemons gas incident

I wouldnt say it was water, it wouldnt separate from the fuel.

I use Mobil or Exxon in my area. I avoid shell like the plague. My truck gets 3-4* spark knock using shell fuel but will hold another 2-3 with Mobil, Exxon, qt, racetrac without any spark knock registering.

There's always a chance for a bad batch or trash in the tank, but QT has never done me wrong. If they treat their tank system as well as everything else, it must be in good working order.

I don't need top tier as that doesn't mean in my eyes that its any better than Kroger or Walmart fuel. I need to 93 octane since my tune is for 93 and I don't want to blow my shit up.

Whats up with the QT gas with water in it, Baron and Tyler?

We use a fuckton of fuel in a weekend at the track, the mont uses around 10-12 gal/hour, and the miata about 6. So roughly 250 gallons of fuel for a weekend with both cars. We ended up with a 55 gallon drum of fuel that wouldnt run in the miata, and the mont was not doing well on it. At the time, we could only run 10 gallons of 22 in fuel cell in the mont, so mixing it half and half would keep it running, but not well.

After collectively scratching our heads and throwing parts at it, while changing the fuel filter, I noticed it really didnt smell like gas, and wasnt evaporating off my skin very quickly.

Turns out we couldnt light a pool of it on the tailgate of the truck with a lighter, either. Looked very clear, might have been a bad mix of ethanol, or additives went crazy.

                  QT refunded our money eventually.

I always use Shell, Chevron, QT, depending on which is closer when I need it. Haven't had any issues at all with them.
No issues when using QT yet, fingers crossed

For years it's been Chevron/Texahoe for me and I hear you on the scarcity, especially outside of a metro.

Lately I'm a huge fan of QT. I stop there more than anywhere else. I'm a fan of how they run shit.

You realize it all comes from the same base fuel. I use to deliver fuel to qt 7/11 almost all stations buy from what ever farm is selling at the cheepest.
On a side note costco is VERY picky about there fuel they random test it all the time. They had us wipe around the drop tube before we hooked up and after dropping the fuel..
What ever you do not buy from a store ran by a rag head, they always order more regular than they can hold then offer you a bribe to drop it in the premium tank. I would never do it, not worth going to jail.

I try to stick to Exxon if I can't go Chevron.

I'm not sure if I got a bad batch of 93 at QT, but I had a 3/4 of a tank after my Mod install and during a WOT run I heard some pinging, as soon as I ran through it, I filled with Chevron and it didn't do it anymore. I needed fuel last night so I just re-filled at a different QT, we'll see if it does it again, but I may just pay a few cents more for Chevron/Texiho since their Techron fuel has always been a favorite of blown/turbo'd cars. It's all I have ever run in the BAD-SVT and never had any pinging...
