  • Rust on a cam

How bad is this, can I just remove it or do I need a new cam?

    is it pitted?

Depends on how rusty, if you can spray some WD40 on and wipe the rust off, or if you can get a leather welding glove and polish it up, then you should be OK. If it's worse than that or pitted, you're screwed.

I've had maybe 1 or 2 in the past like this and i just dropped them off at my machine shop i use and just have them polish it like a crank and see how it turns out. Normally if its smooth to the touch it should be "ok".

Hit it with a wire brush, scrape it against concrete if you have to. It will be fine!

I did hit with a wire brush and some steal wool, looks like it should work.
