It seems the best thing to do is just take the parts from another car rather than go aftermarket. I just have no idea how involved that is or what the cost might be.

Vintage Air is more of a universal Street Rod kit - not custom. I like that it doesn't use vacaum to switch the blender doors (stepper motors instead) , and I can make the hoses come out the side instead of through the firewall.
I'll snap a picture later to show you want I mean.
I'm just starting a 1987 Dash swap also (don't have much to show yet though).
If you get the evaporator etc.. for inside the car, you can get a kit like these for much of the other stuff (others make the equivalent kits too)
