  • 1996 F150 300ci EGR tube help

Looking for a little help, a buddy at work needs an EGR tube from a 96 f150 with the 4.9L i6. apparently 96 was a unique year in that the EGR tubes from 94 and 95 will not work. The PN's that will work for this truck are F6TZ9D477-P and F6TZ9D477-RA. The -E models look like they should, but won't.

The part numbers aren't purchasable online, and his truck is down until he can get this part replaced. was hoping maybe someone knows where to find a used piece (dj?) or can recommend a suitable workaround (high temp hose to join the pieces together?)

    TIA

Yeah. I suggested an EGR delete but he doesn't want the CEL and associated problems that he's seen people experience once they do it. If we can't find a new tube i wonder if anyone makes a braided/rubber hose that is high temp enough to join the cut ends together

I *think* that he could just plug the holes, and keep everything there, and it will pass. I dont think the egr system can detect flow, just position. I might be wrong.

96 is obd2 and will see insufficient flow. Try bob Allen ford in Kansas
