  • Cast Iron Block Repair

Does anyone have a recommendation for cast iron repair? I have a Chrysler Hemi block that has a busted engine mounting ear. I don't have the missing chunk, so that would have to be made from scratch and welded/stitched to the block.

    Any leads are appreciated.

Call Rick over at Metroplex Machine in Balch Springs. If he can't handle it, he will know who can. He's a great builder.

I first used McGill on a recommendation from Mercbuff years ago, and have since been back over there a number of times and never went away unsatisfied. He's done cast iron repairs for me a few times, and he'll tell you up front if it can be done or not....if it can be done, he's your man.

I just talked to a friend of mine on your behalf.

"I can and have done it. I just barely have time for my own stuff though so I'd be taking away from that... and our shop rate is $120/hr.

He said to try Brian Bass.
