Key switch replacement -84 model

Do I HAVE to get the switch into the "on" position to get the pin to come out. Bought this one at auction, no key. Locksmith wanted over $100. New key switch $19...

yep, you'll need to drill out the cylinder to get it apart

I have had pretty good luck with a rake and a tension wrench to get the lock cylinder to turn without having the key.

That was pretty easy.. Battery dead, ran out of time to try starting...fingers crossed for a quick flip

I've had good luck with a screwdriver and a pair of channel locks. Had to re key a column that I got from the pick and pull. Took all of 10 seconds to turn it.

Started right up. Smog pump locked up. Anyone have a CHEAP smog pump ? Hate to bypass if I'm gonna flip it

Grab an electric one off of a GM at the junkyard and plumb in in. Make sure to get the mount and wiring for it at the same time

I might have a smog pump at my mom's ill have to check you can have it if i find it.
