There is a TSB out for those transmissions. If it is still under warranty and you are nice to the service guy or have a hook up at one, you could get it fixed it for free. I just went through something similar on our Fusion with the 2.5L. It was in the shop for a month, I had a 2016 EB Fusion in the mean time so I didn't bitch about how long it took. It does require taking out the transmission and almost rebuilding the entire thing. Good luck...
I'll look at the service receipts later and tell you exactly what they replaced.

Guy who brought me home meantioned Ford extended the warranty on the trans to 100k and the TCM to 150k. Fingers crossed . Can't find anything as far as solid info tho.

Well the TCM was replaced in ours as was the valve body and center support. The tech (mechanic) told me that the fluid wasn't bad and there was no burnt smell so I didn't get the clutches replaced, which I wish they did, but a new filter and fluid was replaced and so far so good.

Clutches, inner and outer input shaft seals and updates are covered by warranty upto 100k. Transmission control module(TCM) is covered up to 150k. Pretty much every focus/feista with a Dps6 Trans needs a new clutch and Tcm in my opinion. Hate to say it but they are garbage with no fix in site just band aids. Good car other then the dps6 Trans. There supposed to put a 6f15( lighter duty model of 6f35 from fusion/escape trans) in there pretty soon.
They are garbage. Seeing people left and have problems made me think I got a good one Lol. Nope. Driving all highway just didn't break it as fast I guess.

Ford dealers don't get as much problems out of them in rural areas/ low stop and go areas. Stop and go just makes the clutches shudder like hell With built up heat.
Had the same problem with mine a few months back. Took it in and the next day the recall letter arrived. Lol. Grapevine ford fixed me all up and got me back on the road but as soon as I can I'm getting rid of this car. The focus seems like a platform ford just can't seem to get anything right on. Every year focus has had some stupid problem that would cause the owner headaches.

My uncle is an engineer on the Focus platform and I hear no end of BS about the office politics surrounding it. The engineers designed the platform to be great right out of the gate but the bean counters neutered it and its reliability issues are directly caused by that.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

I can only imagine. This is the second focus I've owned and several times I've looked at stuff on both cars and wondered what the hell ford was thinking.
