  • '02 F150 A/C problem

My '02 F150 with electronic temperature control keeps sending MAX A/C to the defrost vents after a few seconds of being on and coming out the panel vents. I can switch it to PANEL/FLOOR but that brings in outside air to cool and less fan speed. I can get it to stay on the panel vents and MAX A/C for longer if I dial down the fan speed as soon as I hit the MAX button but it still goes up to the defrost vents, just gives me a few more seconds.

Any ideas? Anyone had this problem before?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

The heater-a/c controls in those trucks have a high failure rate.

That is what I am thinking too. Gonna suck to find. I looked under the hood briefly and nothing stuck out.

Hmm. Actual driver's control panel or a module or actuator in the dash?

well they have problems too. if I leave mine with pass side climate control off the ac wont kick on. with both drive and pass side on it works pretty good. sometimes the light wont come on until you floor the truck. my Silverado is the best vehicle ive ever owned though solid and dependable.

I just had to replace the blend door actuator in my suburban. Luckily it was pretty basic. The drivers side would just randomly start blowing heat that would make the devil sweat, but the passenger side would stay cold.
