  • Orfice tube replacement

I've got to tear into my A/C system to replace the accumulator. I had replaced the main line coming out of the compressor but it had a loose connection on the high pressure fitting and leaked out my Freon (even after I held a vacuum on it). So now that I'm re-opening my system, should I replace the liquid line (houses the orfice tube) or should it be ok? The car cooled very well and would get plenty cold prior to doing any work on it (the original hose got nicked and leaked). I've only had the system open long enough to swap the coolant hose, 10 minutes maybe, so I don't think any trash got in it.

It either has a bad pressure switch or it's got an internal leak I cant track. I pumped it down (held 30lbs/vac for 4 hours), charged it up and had it cooling, working great in the driveway. Drove it down the street and it stopped working. Got it back to the house, hooked the gauges back up, tada!! it starts working again. Jump in it yesterday morning, cruise into work with the AC blowing ice cold (cause I can), get in to leave at the end of the day and it doesn't work, still doesn't work. WTF!?!?!?!

Which switch? Compressor switch? Dash switch? High pressure switch? Low pressure switch?

I'll have to go back and look, it has a 34oz capacity on refrigerant. I mainly went off pressures and the fact that the compressor was running.
