  • Lightning mass air question

Using a lightning mass air on a upcoming fox turbo build...my question is, am I able to get 48/50/60lb injectors and have the mass air calibrated for those once it's tuned? Thanks in advance

You can do it that way but you shouldn't. If you have the ability to tune things by altering the ECU programming there is not need to try to trick the ECU anymore.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

What the hell are you talking about?

How much power do you plan on making?

May want to consider upgrading to a better maf if you want to make much over 500-550. And avoid a mafia if you can.

This is a good alternate. What I'll be using in my 358 turbo motor.
33% more range than standard HPX; MAF 3" Tube 800+WHP; MAF 3.5" Tube 1000+WHP

The Lightning maf or ANY maf for that matter can be made to work with ANY injector size.

The "calibration tubes" or matched maf to injectors is a load of crap and is used to sell more parts.

C&L mass air meters suck because of the "calibration" tubes FYI.

LMaf is the best of the oem mafs and for the price it's awesome, but it's limited to around 500whp.

Your tuner can make anything you have work.

          I've got a Pmas Blow Thru protube calibrated for 60's if you're needing a meter. It's a 3.5" tube.

The above post is right by just matching the sampling tube up.
It's at its limits at that much air flow, does he have a mafia or something to "extend" the range?

I plan to make over 700 so I was wanting to go with something mo betta'

Whats the same as the Lightning MAF ? And which Lightning MAF ? Which SCT is the larger one ?

I have owned 3 Lightnings and the stock meters will peg the voltage around 450rwhp.

The 90mm mass air found on the 99-04 lightnings.

They have the "sct big maf" which is the same (I think) just in a 100mm housing.

Yes, 450whp on a 5.4 is about right for maxing out the maf. A motor with more efficient top end will make more w/ the same amount of air, obviously.. So a good healthy nice tuned motor could make 500-600w on a L maf.

I was wrong. Looks the the sct sensor is different.

Either way! It's all up to how much power you want to make.
