  • Chevy silverado front seat info needed....

I'm doing some interwebz research but not finding anything definitive so I figured I would ask here.

I have a customer that has a 1965 impala and is interested in putting shoulder belts in the car. Car does not have a B pillar.

I'm looking to find which year chevy trucks have the front seat with the built in shoulder belts. I have found 2002 up to 2004, but there has to be others. Looking to buy a set and have them recovered to match existing seats....but here is the kicker. They have to lay forward so he can slide his wheelchair into the back seat.

What other years have this type of seat so I can expand my search and do they all lay forward, not just the regular cab seats?

    Thanks for the help.

My 07 classic ext. cab has the seatbelts like that. I just checked and the seats don't lean forward. I think the rcsb seats lean forward. I wonder if you could combine parts from two seats?

I think he will woefully regret that.

Put a rollbar and harnesses in it.

Both my 05/06 sierras had the built in seat belts, but they only fold forward so far... not enough to climb over into the back seat. My 08 sierra had the seat belt in the pillar. The change happened between the 07/ classic body and the new 07+ bodies/

Will prevent access for the chair. We already looked at that scenario.

My 99 Silverado ext cab has the seat belts in the seats and they lean forward for back seat access.

I should have clarified. Mine were all crew cabs. I forgot about the extended cab trucks. I thought by 99 they had the half doors on both sides.

That's how the Chevelle's are too.

Right now, it has Y belts that come over the top of the seat and anchor at the rear seat. It's like a 4 pt belt with a cam lock. Not sure it will even pass a TXDOT safety inspection but it's better than the lap belts that came in it. It's actually how the owner ended up in a wheelchair by getting in a serious accident with just a lap belt. I guess I need to do some research and see how the later cars had shoulder belts without the b-pillar. It could use a new head liner and maybe we figure out a way to attach a shoulder setup while it's out.

I got to get him in the car today and drive it for the first time since around 2001. I put a connect and cruise CT525/4L70 crate setup in it and it is awesome. He is seriously jazzed about getting to drive it again.
