  • 2004 Wrangler 4.0 P1698

Have a buddy with a sweet jeep, says he's got a CEL with a P1698....with a cheap scanner, there is no detailed description and I'm a FORD guy lol. He says it will stumble and die...cycle the key and run like a top for a while and continue the same process...any jeep dudes out there???

This is usually due to an internal problem with the PCM or a wiring problem to the PCM causing a loss of signal. Has he been wheeling anywhere that he could have gotten some water at the PCM?

Could be a lost signal to the TCM, but it would likely have shifting issues
