You can get some 31 splines out of an explorer that will probably hold up just fine. You can also get the 31 spline LSD and a decent set of gears from the explorer. If you're using a fox body housing. This gets you 5 lug and a stronger set of axles for pretty cheap!

Moser 31 will be just fine. I've been running the same set for over 10 years.

I wont buy another set of mosers again after 2 sets of custom length axles being bent from the get go.

          Strange. Yukon, Markwilliams etc.

Yeah I have beat the shit out of several of these with 36 inch tires and 400 plus HP. They are a drop in for a Jeep YJ.

what are stock 2000 GT axles good for? I won't be doing any launching because of the stock transmission, so I'm wondering if I should wait and build the trans first?

With not so sticky rubber they are good for whatever you throw at them. Big launches on sticky rubber and/or really bad wheel hop/tire shake is what will kill them.

spline twisting is normal in all aftermarket axles, is this what you mean by bent?

This is normal, not going to break unless you reverse the side it's in and it's rotation
