The HF earthquake is actually really good for its price.

But I also agree with the cordless suggestion. The Milwaukee 2763 and ir 1/2" (forget the model) will go toe to toe with any air impact. I also have a Milwaukee 3/8" impact from their m12 line that I love. I barely touch a ratchet anymore.

True I don't exactly know what he's dealing with. But I would assume its little stuff. Works great on my half ton truck, my mustang, and the wife's toyota. I don't think he's working on 1 tons and such, but who knows.

Just normal cars and light duty trucks. The worst of it is suspension stuff that tends to be harder to break loose, even after soaking with PB Blaster and letting sit. I work on the ground, so I don't always have room to get my breaker bar under there and have room to get leverage. The one that came with it won't even break lug nuts torqued to 100ft lbs, so I have to use a breaker bar to get them started.

I use a Chicago Pneumatic cp7748 at home, and so far seems great. Before I had the harbor freight earthquake impact, which had good power, but I though was a bit heavy.

I actually picked up a Klutch from Northern tool. Knockoff of IR, I believe, not sure. Been using it for a couple years and does everything I need so far. wheels, suspension,etc. I have the 30gallon from HD as well.

Don't quote me on this, but I think the ryobi electric impact (thats the one I have) will make more 'torque than the air compressor you posted can. So in other words, even if you got a high quality impact, I think that your standard electric impact would still out perform it because that air compressor doesn't go high enough. My air compressor is similar, it only goes to 135.. or somewhere in there. Can't remember. But its worth looking into before you buy.

But if you go ryobi, you have to get the big battery, not the little one. I have both, and the little batter just doesn't have enough ballz.

Whatever you end up with make sure you get some Milton V style fittings from Northern or order some from here http://www.tptools.com/Hi-Flow-Coupler-Kit,172.html and a good 3/8" hose to feed it. I've got just the 1/2" HF Earthquake and use it for suspension stuff.

Since the OP's question has been answered, somebody recommend a good quality... airhose comes from a roll on the ceiling... thing. I've heard they aren't all created equal. Anybody got one?
