  • corvette people, tire size question

I know several on here own/owned corvettes...

What is the widest tire I can properly run on a 10" rear wheel without major rubbing or running spacers?

I have an '05 lowered on stock bolts. Looking at 305s but not sure if a 10" wheel can handle that.

305 fits perfect on a C6. 10" is not a problem at all.

It should look like it belongs there.

295, maybe 305, actual specs can vary by manufacturer. I always found Nittos ran a little smaller.

          Thanks.

Going to pick up some Nitto Invos and figured that they *should* be fine, but just wanted to make sure.

Just put a set of 305/35/19 Nitto Invos on a 2009 Corvette base model. Looks right at home like it was factory.

This is a 305/35-20 Nitto DR on a 20x10 wheel.

Yes, it was three days old and got a screw stuck in it.

I had 305 invos on my c5 on c6 rims, it looks great but it's short so u will have to run a short tire in front to make it look right and then lower it more by cutting the bolts.

                    So question...

                    Fronts are 245/40/18

I went from 285/40/19 in the rear to 305/30/19.

Ride is smooth, straight, etc. BUT, once you get above 75-80, it gets "floaty". That's the best way to describe. Is it due to the change in height or what? Rears are Nitto Invos. Just put them on today, so they have maybe 50 miles.

*Edit, car is lowered on stock bolts*

It'll get better as the tires break in

Not exactly what you're asking, but i know a lot of people have issues with the active handling/traction control etc whenever they deviate from the stock sizes. There are threads on corvetteforum or z06vette - you have to be within +/- a % of factory sizes to avoid the issues.

Yeah I read some of those. Hard to sift through some of the long winded posts over there.
