  • Do all caster camber Plates make the clunking sound ? If not what brands work

I posted a few days ago about my Negative camber and a member came back and advised to get new caster cambers plates; I started the search and found what he recommended. I then started researching how to properly put them on etc when I ran into the CLUNKING NOISE issue. I went back to just ask the member but I had already deleted the post.

Is the clunking noise an issue on all the steel aftermarket plates or is there a way of fixing it or better brands don't make it ?

I really don't want another noise; that's why I started the entire frontend rebuild for.

Looking to order Maximum Motorsports Caster Camber plates - 2000 Mustang

I have a set of MM plates that had a bushing go bad and it clunked. I was able to buy just the upper portion of the plate from them and it's good as new. I'd go MM.

so am assuming yours does make that noise or you just aren't happy with them for other reasons as well ?

wish now I would have just stuck with my stock struts

btw, if the incorrect spacers are used they will also make noise.

I have UPR in my car and don't know that i've ever heard a "clunking" noise. I have teamZ in another car but haven't put any time on it yet.

I daily mine with MM CC plates and they're perfectly quiet. Take note that Strange brand struts are known to knock in the MM plates. I'm running Tokicos and they work great.

I also ran UPR plates on my fox with KYB's and they were fine as well.

No noise from my MM, I would like some improvements from them for alignment reasons but they work fine, just not very full of features.

I just put new KYB's on mine when replacing the stock V6 springs with new GT springs. I wasn't lowering or raising the car, just wanted a better ride so figured the GT springs would help and knew they would be a little different height but had no ideal my camber would do this.

So since you have done both, what would you recommend with price difference around $50

Only looking for quiet ride, no racing or anything like that

I'm an MM fan but never had any issues with UPR. I believe both are US made so which ever one is more visually appealing I suppose. It's just a street car right?

so you still have negative camber issues even with them ?

I read UPR's have better adjustability

I am not a fan of the negative camber look on a normal car and since am only looking for the ride aspect it's driving me crazy

I've got Koni's with MM coilovers in MM CC plates and they are quiet.
