89 Mustang GT -

So, i went to show a mustang last night, about a 50 mile round trip.
First leg was fine. ON the way back , the car died on the highway, I felt a loss of power. I pulled over, no leaks, no smoke, no sign of overheating, however , i was almost sure thats what it was.

Fuel pump whines on start up, I added gas, I tried to turn on and the car does the following :

Ignition in , lights come on, i turn (crank) the key and nothing,

I held the key in the crank position and after about 5 seconds the motor starts to turn, doesnt start, then stops...

Any ideas ?

sounds like what happened with my old bronco, i had to start it off the relay under the hood til i could get it fixed.

Would the ignition switch cause the car to die on the highway while rolling ?

Check voltage at the ignition wire going to the solenoid. If you have good voltage try jumping the solenoid.

My coil wire (+) pops out and does that shit, I need a new plug.

Hm.... i may buy one and swap it out , its only 28.00

The only reason i think its not, is because, the car tries to turn over , then stop.
sounds like a weak battery , however, i know its not the battery.

Well , just picked up the car and it stared long enough to
Drive on the car hauler . Idled fine - I could smell Gas though.


I also added two gallons before I tried to start-
