  • Bad Rubber Grommet

So I was cleaning up some things in my truck engine compartment and when I removed the ACT sensor from the cold air intake, the rubber grommet tore. Can I pick one up anywhere? Or can this somehow be repaired? It's supposed to be one piece but it's separated and one piece is torn through.

Pretty sure I saw one that size in the "Help" products section at autozone.

I couldn't find any grommets at my local Autuzone so I just bought some gasketmaker and just sealed the sensor to my cold air intake. Can't really either but it might be a little bit of a PITA if it has to be replaced.

Hard to tell from the pick, but that almost looks as if it was more along the lines of foam, than rubber. I've run into those types a time or two

Definitely rubber and cracked with age. Fortunately my hack job of sealing and attaching the ACT sensor to my cold air pipe seems to be holding up and doesn't look to bad. I'm going to put it back together today and hopefully it runs fine.
