Should you replace power stering fluid?

Should I drain & replace P/S fluid in my 170K mile Ranger. Fluid is still translucent dark red, never added any, and no problems, I know brake fluid absorbs water & goes bad - but does P/S fluid go bad?

I would. Heat and pressure over time will cause all fluids to breakdown.

I would too. Its fairly easy to do anyway. No point in aging your power steering system prematurely

if it hasnt been changed in 170k miles, i wouldnt fuck with it.
