  • What intake manifold should I buy?

I'm running a fully forged Teksid block out of a 1998 Cobra, and I'm looking for the best Intake for my T-trim combo. What is everyone's thoughts on either an MMR, or a Sullivan intake?

Stock B heads with a 5 angle valve job.

Factory intake or a modified factory version.

He is saying run the factory or a modified factory version. There aren't many options out for the B heads, MMR makes them but they are expensive and Sullivan only covers the C heads I believe. There's a guy on corral.net (nastysvt I believe) that cuts the B head intake apart and shortens the runners, that and IMRC deletes will help it breath in the upper rpm but will hurt the bottom end some.

Ya, the MMR's are hella expensive. The reason I asked about the MMR's is I might be able to get a deal on one?

I think if I can get it for around $800, it would still be a steal?

I don't have any experience with them. I would think you'd have to make some pretty insane power before the intake would become really needed. The other components needed to support the boost and power level would be a better place to spend your money in my opinion.

I think I already have it all. Short break down of parts: built motor, T-trim, 80lb injectors, Aeromotive rails, Aeromotive 100 micron and 50 micron filters, Magnafuel pro 750, and of course everything else ( exhaust ). Looking to make upwards of 700 + HP.

David is correct in the assumption that I was recommending the factory or modded factory intake. I wouldn't dump a lot of coin in a intake. You could dump that in valvetrain and get more gain.

I don't think you need to worry much about the intake, have it made a short runner and add a plenum spacer if you just want to spend money on it. If you are after a whole different look then I suggest the aftermarket intake. Do you already have a maf to support your combo?

I'm pretty sure its a 90mm lightning MAF, Diablo piggyback, SCT 3.
