yes, that pressure is much higher with a running engine.

If you suspect head gasket issue you can get this to help diagnose.
Combustion Leak Tester Block Checker C-3685-A BT-500 Used with Large Engine Adapter BT-800 on radiator openings larger than 1-3/4 inches Applications: Universal - Gasoline Engines, Diesel Engines, Propane Engines, Natural Gas Engines, or...

Autozone rents the kit, you just have to buy the fluid.

Can you smell gasoline in your coolant or see any floating oil?

No. It just blows it out the cap. I figured it was a blown gasket. Just wierd that it still shows good comp numbers. I'm ordering a set of cosmetics. I figured at 5 psi the 9333's would have held up.

I wasn't even beating on it just driving down the road.

They'll do fine at 5psi. Could be a bit of warp on the head or deck surface allowing combustion to push into the coolant passages but not between cylinders, hence the good compression numbers on static comp test. I'd bet a wet leak down would tell you more.
