  • Who sells a 1.25" radiator hose coupler?

For my swap I've had to hack up a radiator hose to get the bend I needed, now I need to reconnect the two ends. I wouldn't figure that this would be too hard to find but after calling vatozone and o'reilly both seemed completely stumped at the idea of hooking two hoses to each other.

    Maybe Napa or somewhere online?

      What do they call it?

I ran into this when installing the turbo on my fox. I ended up putting extra abrasion guards around the hose, but I always thought it looked like hell.

You mean a metal tube to connect two hoses?

Just go to the muffler pipe section, they have short pieces there and they're all galvanized, they'll last a while.

They also sell "hose repair kits" but they're plastic. They are usually around where the hose clamps are at.

will it seal without a "lip" at each end?

The plastic pieces will, they are barbed.

The metal ones would, but I'd weld a bead around the end or have it swedged. If you go to a muffler shop, you might even get one stainless.

I know they were hanging on a hook near the hoses and they were made by prestone.

The ones we sell are in a grey and yellow package behind the counter with the radiator accessories on an endcap. These are for temporary use as they will deteriorate across several heat cycles.

I would use a piece of exhaust tubing as Brooks recommended.

I used sections of aluminum tubing, it will not rust or corrode like steel, at least no faster than the intake or radiator. If you can wait three-four days, buy some from Summit or Jegs. Or better yet, buy one of their universal radiator hose kits.

Another thought, if this has to be done ASAP, go to Lowes or Home Depot, and look at the 1.25" chromed brass P-trap extensions that are used under sinks for the drains. Around $5, and it should be enough length to get it done until you can get something better. But exhaust tubing would do just as good for short-term use.

What radiator are you using? We always used the fbody rad n fan assembly to use the top hose and use a flex hose on the bottom. Never hacked any hoses together. Thats some ni**er rigging shit right there.
