I have these on the mustang - they are not very loud (especially compared to Flowmasters with dumps) On my 97 Ram I had Gibson single exhaust, it had a nice rumble.

I want to say on my last coupe I had bassani full length headers, an x pipe, and dynomax super turbos with 2.5" tips, and they were fairly quiet, but I'm still asking b/c that was 15 years ago things change.

if its a newer f150, your stock exhaust is 3" already, and the muffler is a straight through type. just do headers and midpipe back to the stock muffler.

Good info. Do they reduce the diameter on the tailpipe?

are turbo mufflers the way to go to quiet down exhaust? I think im running a 2 chamber muffler without cats and i need to quiet it down, on a mustang. I have acquired a set of 2009 mufflers that i have yet to install but im also thinking about slapping on high flow cats. Im doing it for the neighbors....

I would try a different muffler before putting ($$) high flow cats on.

3" all the way except for the flow tube before the resonator at the flange after the cat.

I put a Dynomax catback exhaust system on my 2001 2.5/5 speed Ranger. This is a critical application, because if it's too loud - it would sound like rice.

I was pleased to find at idle & just puttering around, it sound almost stock, just with deeper pitched sound. But when you put your foot in & wind it up, it's a bit louder than stock, but no rice at all. Truck picked up some power, particularly highway passing power.
