cause everybody needs a build like this to sour them financially and mentally of the car hobby. once you attempt a build like this all the fun in the hobby goes right out the door...

Mike: You will never get this mill done, because you don't want to go fast. You want to build something because you can, which is the fatal flaw of this plan. Trust and believe you are not breaking new ground. Hell, you could probably get a billet flathead Ford or nailhead Buick block and throw boost at it until it makes a thousand horsepower, but it's pointless. Other mills will make more power cheaper and faster, and run circles around you at the dollar amounts you're spending.
EDIT: Let me put it another way. Who has arguably the most max-effort, total build street car on this board right now? Keith? How many dollars does he have in that Cobra? How long has it taken him? How much longer will it take? Did he let it get in the way of having a life outside that inanimate object? These are important questions to ask yourself, because hell is full of regret.Last edited by YALE; 02-02-2015, 11:37 PM.ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

I'm not trying to reinvent any wheels, just want to run 9s on motor with a small block ford.
If I go with a 8.2 itll require more rpm then a 9.5. I'm aware of clevor motors and they run well, I was just asking for more details on which parts ect...
I guess since all I have is an 1/8 track close by. 6.50-6.70s on motor would be nice.
Here in a few months I'll be dipping into low 7s with a 302 on motor, the 7.6 was a really shitty pass as far as feeling like it was a good one. With a 1.71 short time in a 2680lb chassis, come on. I have 2 tenths that I can shave by letting out of the clutch more aggressive if the damn suspension would work.

I was clear in my first post that this wasn't something I planned on doing soon. You guys are making it seem like this is some large impossible feat, from what little research I've done it doesn't seem that hard as long as your car isn't heavy. My goal is sub 2600lb w/o driver.
Hell my 302 with a 150 May just get me where I want to be for a while, even faster if I go with a different cam.Last edited by 91CoupeMike; 02-03-2015, 05:38 AM.

i dont think anyone here is saying its an impossible feat or even a complex build for that matter. its just lots of us have been down that road and the direction you are going is hard on valve train parts and just not a fun motor to live with. you are young and need to find your own way, but it only takes swimming up stream a couple of times to ruin the hobby for you.
