Need input...Ebay "projector" headlights...

We are thinking about adding headlights to the wife's 99 camaro race car so we can run it in endurance races that go into the night. The factory replacements are freaking expensive but the Ebay cheapo projectors are nearly half the price. Do they actually work worth a crap?

If not, what brands do work well or have similar output to HID's?

Marcus has the Ebay halo lights in his and they fit good, no fogging so far. I'd do those with a cheapo HID kit and be done with it.
