  • Clutch disk replacement.

I have the centerforce DF in the car now.

It started slipping this morning after a year of hard use.

I was looking on summit and got confused on what disk is the DF disk.

Or, is replacing just the disk stupid and should I go ahead and go with a new pressure plate as well.

Probably just another valeo disc like the "king cobra' or Ram HD, etc. etc.

Put a spec stage three in it and be done.

This is the clutch I have.

This is the disk options. None seem to match.

Even if it's only a year old?

            Do they wear That fast?

                  I'd imagine so, it's slipping.

So for clutches that only last a year, do you replace both pressure plate and disk? Or just the disk?

I know normally you always replace both. But normal conditions don't really apply anymore.

huh? a glazed/warped/cracked pressure plate isn't going to hold like a new one...

and why would you replace a clutch that only lasted a year with the exact same one again?

I dont see how you can wear a clutch out in a year imho. Even my ram hd replacement lasted longer than that and i was hard on that poor thing. 6k slick launches with nitrous you name it. I made 300 passes that year at redline. Not to count all the street racing.

Every person ive met with a cf clutch has had them start slipping. Jusy buy a good clutch and be done with it.

Im willing to bet yours really isnt worn out, but glazed/burnt to hell.

I was very hard on it. It lasting s year is surprising.

The weather with being stuck, having traction issues ate it the fuck up.

I will prolly stay with centerforce and if the next one sucks then I'll change brands.

I drive ALOT of miles too, with heavy traffic. And with any performance friction material it won't last as long as standard material. Right?

True, I've seen a few members post that the CF only lasted 30k miles.

So is the spec really the best Option to go with?

with your power. i'd put a stock one it from your local parts store and then warranty it out when it goes bad. you wont listen to me, but thats the best advice
