I was under the impression that a code would still pop up even if the light turned off. Long story short, I've replaced a few parts and the light never went away. It sat for a few months until I absolutely needed to use it and I've been driving it since (to and from the train) for a while now with the CEL. Thursday I notice that the light was off so I figured the bulb went out since it has been on for a long time but the following day, I crank her up and you know how all the lights turn on at first start, and the cel proved to be functional. So I took that sumbitch straight to inspection and I passed. Last I checked the car was throwing a catalytic converter code. How'd that happen?

If you don't reset pcm after repairs with scanner, then pcm will do it after so many successful key cycles with no issues.

I have heard of that happening after so many key cycles but ive put a lot of key cycles through since the last repair. Maybe it was the last 20-30 since I got it moving again after sitting for a few months....boy, I tell ya' I got excited when I noticed that the light turned off....

Well, that didn't last long. The light came back on. At least I passed inspection
