  • 4r70w linkage arm question (pic)

Ok. So, I just installed the new engine in the marauder and got the tranny all bolted in. When I went to hook up the shifter arm to the cable it wouldn't reach. I came to the conclusion that it got spun around when it was out of the car. Now that it is in the car there isn't enough room to just simply flip it back around like the green line in the pic shows. So, my question is; can I just pop it off at the little blue grommet with the red arrow? I didn't want to try it and break it until I asked someone who might have removed one before.

    Thanks

That should work fine, the bushing is pretty tough and dense. Spray some wd40 or something on it and pry it off gently.

Sweet. Thanks. You are correct, that bushing is pretty dense, and didn't have a lot of give when I pried on it a little. That is why I was worried that I might break something. lol.
