z71 4wd trouble

ok last knight i had my suburban z71 in auto 4wd. after like 30 miles or so its started to make this ratchiting noise . its sounds like its coming from the front right side and comes and goes for a few seconds or minute and comes back. what could it be? just trying to see if anyone had seen this before. Its to cold to jack with it but wanted to see if anyone had this problem. thanks

is it effecting the drive at all or just making noise

encoder motors are a known problem on those...might check the op of that

its just making the noise...drives fine. just loud noise.
