  • Tri-five Chevy parts distributors

My brother has a '56 Chevy 150 that he is working on. For Christmas, I was looking at ordering him some parts to nudge him into working on it.

I figured some of you guys may know who's better to buy from and who to avoid.

    Thanks in advance.

His is/was running, but needs a lot underneath(floors, brakes, suspension).

they have nothing in stock, and are pretty high comparatively. Not that DM's prices are the lowest around, but when I went looking for something I needed, I told them DM had it in stock, but was a 2 hour round trip that I could only do on a saturday morning. They offered to price match them, but wouldnt have it in for a week.

Good to know, I was gonna use them for sheet metal on the 64 to save shipping. I'll call before making the drive.

I work at a classic car dealer and order parts for these cars. I like to use H&H Classics for tri five stuff. They are in Arkansas so they get stuff here quick, and they are cheap too.

I used to use Ecklers a lot but after a few hiccups with them I started using H&H and they've been doing a good job.

                  H&H Classics are great people.

Not a fan of Danchuck or Ecklers.

I was going to say what he said ^^^, for whatever that's worth.

The floor pans that I used from H&H and put in my car required VERY minimal trimming and fit really well.

JEGS. They carry Gold Star parts. Gold star has a warehouse in Lewisville. Thet are a wholesale place though, but you can order through JEGS. Here is the gold star site. You can look at their stuff and search on JEGS to order. http://www.goldenstarauto.com/NewPro...px?npc=11&pi=0
If you want to save shipping on big stuff, order on phone with JEGS and get them to set up the pick up in Lewisville. I picked up a deck lide and some otehr stuff to save the huge shipping bill.
I'm building a 55 post myself...Tons of metal work to do.

A co worker of mine has a 56 that he just recently finished. He sunk more than $50k in it and never drives it. If your brother wants a screaming deal it is for sale. $30k will take it home. I don't know what your brother is planning to do to his but if he isn't too far along I would highly recommend buying one that someone is taking a bath on.

This car has a built motor, 4 link, currie 9", lots of bug $$ stuff. It's a show car that runs really well. He took it to a few shows local to DFW and then put it in his garage. Hasn't driven it in a year.

I'd have to finance it for him... and that's not happening. lol

Besides, he's been wanting to build a car for a long time.

A problem for the guys that have mega-nice cars. My neighbor is the president of Dallas area Classic Chevy's, and he drives his 56 Corvette maybe a dozen times per year. Another neighbor drives his 55 Chevy convertible exactly once per year to get it inspected a couple of miles away.

They love their cars, but don't get to enjoy them anywhere near as often as I do with my Mustang. No where near as unique, but late models rule!!!
