  • Anyone good at making braided stainless hoses in the Ft. Worth area?

I'm still working on getting the 408 in my car, and I need to make (2) 6AN hoses for the tranny cooler. I did one end and it came out terrible.

Anyone in the Ft. Worth area good at putting the ends on hoses and want to help. I'll buy the beer. The hoses and fittings are Aeroquip if that matters.

    Thanks,

    Robert

Tried the fine hacksaw blade, that didn't work too great. Cutoff tool in my Dremel tool worked pretty well. Tried multiple kinds of tape (best was packing tape). I just can't get the hose started in the fitting well (the one I finished has more braided stainless strands poking out than I would like).

All the articles I read said 6AN is about the hardest to do.

i usually use a grinder with a cutoff wheel going slow. i get the fitting started over the line then do the

"two handed downward stab on the table" lol

        pretty much hammering it on.

Ok, thanks, I'll try again. I figure by the time I put the last one on I'll be good at building them. That's usually the way it goes.

Use lubricant on your fitting going into the hose also.

Mark the hose to make sure it doesn't push out the the back when you tighten down the ends.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
