  • 500ci Cadillac motors, hard to find?

I've been trying to help a buddy locate an inexpensive 500 Cadillac and besides checking Craigslist or theHamb we've struck out. Local would be better but nothing really pops up. Anyone have luck finding one or know of any sitting around?

wish I'd known about that when I was looking for one. I had to buy a whole damn car to get a motor.

The 472 is the same block, you're just missing a few cubes.
The 500 was also (I could be wrong) found only in the ElDorados, which lowers the numbers. 472s started in 1968 and went into the early-maybe mid-70's

Solow55, let me know. I wouldn't say a ratrod, it's going in a 85 swb Chevy that he's had for about 15years. It's a carb and distributer away from running with a sbc and I give him hell about it but he'd rather put a 500" Cadillac in it

It was in all 1970-1976 Eldorado's but was more widely used. In 1975-76 it was used in all models except for the Seville.
