Uhhhhh. You don't just change a throw out bearing in a semi. You change the clutch, which weighs in the neighborhood of 130lbs, and you're going to be pulling the flywheel for resurfacing as well. Book time on a clutch job is 10-12 hours, and we use a regular floor jack type trans jack. Have fun, if you try to tackle it. Make sure to check the clutch fork, cross shafts, and cross shaft bushings. If the rear main is leaking, might as well do it while you're in there.

Iv done about 100 big rig clutch jobs. I worked at bruckner Mack in 04 and my only job was to pull transmissions or do clutch jobs. If I do the job or ever do another truck clutch job I will replace the clutch assembly, pilot bearing, resurface the flywheel, and either replace the shift fork or the inserts on it. The truck driver( swears it's just the throw out bearing. I quoted him for the entire clutch job. Iv turned down the job as of right now due to not having a trans jack that will work.

No, those usually go to scrap, we have alignment tools for the shop, and I have some plastic ones for sale up front. Let me know which one you need.
