That's what I had, we did the install ourselves. Was fairly easy. Change the oil every 7500 miles and you're good to go.

ok cool! so what other mods do you have besides the 3500 stall(what brand) which exhaust, gears, heads, cams etc.... i'm only asking cause of a friend who also owns a 2002 GT auto and wants to try and run mid 7's!

        care to explain?
Ask Josh about the valve on cylinder 5 that causes problems when you go to the bigger blower. You have gone about as aggressive as you can go with those with out doing a lot of modifications to the intake manifold and blower.

I have no idea what 99-04 you have, but personally I'll second what jonny is saying above. I got a P1SC on my '03 auto with a bunch of mods and it was fun - but I think turbo is money better spent.

Also, when I asked around (of course after my p1sc was installed) - it does not seem like turbos are really that much more expensive.

I am well aware of that car. I bought my blower off him so he could go bigger and this is what it cost him. From what I am hearing it is the cams that are causing the main problem. This is my wife's race car and we have reached about as far as I want it to go, but we still have to put the roll bar in to legal at the track.

i had a non intercooled s-trim on my 01 GT back in 03 and i must have met 3 people within 6 months who had pulled their pro chargers to send back for leaky seals. never had one problem with the blower
but that was years ago and perhaps pro charger has increased their quality control.
i made 435 to the tire with perfect driveablity. that was on 10 psi

there werent a lot of positive displacement options back then so i never got to sample one...i did drive a kenne bell car in 05 (2V GT) and was not impressed.

What I did here was buy a 2008 f150 4.6 2 valve motor with 10,000 on the clock. Changed the left cam gear because it has 8 timing pointers on it for the variable timing the 08 f150 had. The rest of the motor is all stock. I had JKS install full length frame ties, 373 gears with hardened axles. I also had him install wolf rear control arms. The control arms were money well spent. The exhaust is stock except for off road X pipe. The converter and transmission were built by Mike's Trick Shift. He builds all his own converters and will stall them ever how you want. As said early watch using any kind of cams except stock. Kenny Bell will tell you this might cause problems. Buy the way we ran this car with the stock gears and truck motor only and it ran 8.7 in the 1/8.

I see a lot of basic roots blower kits putting down ~420 rwhp.

Of course I don't know this from experience, it's just what I've been noticing on forums.

Eric, if you want instant boost/torque go with a roots style, if you want something that continue's to pull like a freight train as the rpm's increase, get a centrifical or Turbo. If I ever have any time to mess with the car (sleeping 2 hours at a time with the baby) I will drive it up to the office one day and let you take it for a spin.

Cool, thanks man! With an auto and a mod motor needing high RPMS to get into the power band it is looking like roots style might be the way to go.

Cheapest route would be N20 if you won't be using it that much.

Correct. Mod motors are in serious need of help in the torque department and a centri with an auto is NOT going to be alot of fun to drive. Turbo should be the first choice, then a KB/Whipple. Has anyone suggested to you PM'n Brooks to see what he would charge you to build/install a cheap street kit for you? When I considered it for my 93 Cobra, I was VERY surprised at the quote he gave me and how reasonable the price was. Take Doug Hatton's vert for example, very basic cheap mods done to the car, stock block and the turbo setup and he has run high 10's.
