  • 5.0 peeps in here...

I'm about to need front disc pads. Mine squeak but they are only about 2/3s gone. I might as well change them out, anyone have a brand they can recommend. I never keep a car long enough to change the brake pads, but I'm keeping the 5.0 so give me some ideas...

do that. If the website wasnt down, id let you shit your pantaloons over what we pay for the racecar pads.

AutoZone C-Max Gold pads. Low dust, long life, no noise, great bite when cold. If you are road racing it, I'd suggest something else. But if it's a city cruiser these are the ones you want.

Another vote for the Thermoquiets. I've used them on every brake job I've done and always been satisfied.

OEM Ford. I usually can get OEM cheaper than parts store stuff.

Have you tried just going through the "bedding" process again? I know that has worked for me in the past. At least so you don't have to hear the squeak between now and when you actually change them out..

No I have not, but I might try it. Thing is, it only does it when its cold or been sitting awhile. Once it goes through a few cycles it will not squeak. It's just annoying more than anything else. Once I heard it more than a few times I decided to check and they are pretty low.
It has to be these sticky Michelins I put on in January, the pads were fine and now they are almost worn out.

I went ahead and ordered the thermo quiet ceramics, not a bad price and they have great reviews.
