Might want to specify the car and running system.

500 on a pretty simple NA combo is pretty steep. I would try and dial it in yourself the way most people have over the years. If you have a bunch of money to spend then it is a moot point. Just something to consider but I would rather spend that money on mods. Now if you can't get it to run worth a shit then it would be WAY worth it.

Right now I got the timing right at 14 degrees. Still got some old 87 fuel in it. Right now I think it runs pretty good. Should improve once I get some fresh gas. I plan on just running 93 in her. If I plan on dyno tuning might have to wait the first or mid month to do it.

I would tune the car for 87 octane. I had TW's milled .125" on my silver fairmont. I did notch the pistons for the intake valve, but the moral of the story is:

when I dyno tuned the car, the magic number was 38* total timing. I ran it higher and lower, and that was the sweet spot.

well, I knew from experience that the car would run just fine on 87 octane at that setting, so I did... from there on out.

car did 330rwhp with a TFS stage 1 cam, RPM air gap intake, and 650 double pumper.

*cliff's notes* - there's no reason to run your car on anything higher than 87 with your combo

Always run the lowest octane gas you can without pinging. That's not to say use low quality gas, but the octane rating has nothing to do with quality.
