  • Help me select MAF brand/model

So I'm going to go ahead and get the car tuned in the next few weeks. Car is HCI and a few bolt ons.

Right now I have the BBK meter and am realizing that it is pretty junkie from reading more about the flow tube design.

Because I'm using an SCT tune... what would you guys suggest as far as selecting a MAF that is good to be tuned with?

My tuner recommended Pro-M but I have read those are calibrated and don't have a transfer function during tuning.

I don't have any first hand experience w/ various aftermarket MAFs which is why I am asking for suggestions and information.

Ive always had the best luck with pro-m.

c&l surged like your car is doing now. Those are the only ones i have delt with.

Just found out my MAF is made for a cold air piping and not the stock air box. That might be part of it but I'm going to try and get a new MAF before tuning regardless so i might as well upgrade from the BBK Junk

Pro-M, C&L is a huge piece of shit.

Go with the sct maf it will probably need a tune to run but you wont regret it.

Seems to be the consensus for calibrated maf's

This is probably more what I was trying to learn more about. A MAF that can be set/programmed as opposed to pre-calibrated

One that is already "calibrated" can still be tuned, just some dont provide enough or correct data for air flow thus power and driveability could suffer. I would call who ever you plan to have tune the car, and ask them which unit they prefer to tune with. Most will say the sct but it is best to get the unit they have more experience with.
