  • ignition switch on accessory power for Garmin\xm

Tired of these damn lighter socket power thingies....

Thinking of buying these 2 units and doing some hard wire power for the xm and garmin in my 2001 Ranger:

Looking for a source for ignition switch power that will either support both accessories or two different powered circuits.

    Any ideas or tips?

Yellow with black at the radio + (switched 12V)
    black at radio -
We solder onto the cig socket plugs, wrap them up so they can not short out, and put them behind the radio. Saves you from buying the hardwire cords and retains the 5V power you need.

We did similar to what EW said on my buddies 97 Ranger for his Sirius. We used a 12 volt socket hardwired and tucked under the dash with the factory Sirius adapter.
