    Ok, I know some guys might suggest an electric fan and what not, but im still willing to stick with the fan clutch for now.

    Both my fan clutch, fan blades and thermostat were changed around this time, last year. So I wouldn't say they are new but they have been changed. Installed brand new Radiator 2 months ago (3row SVE) and blue goodyear hoses, radiator is topped along with overflow tank at its level.

    Yesterday, got off work at 11pm, so no sun and weather was down to its 80's.
    Drove to tom thumb, had the vehicle parked with the a/c on. Next thing I see is the temp gauge rising up to 180. I started to drive away and noticed the temp gauge going back down. Then I parked it again, and the temp gauge starts creeping back up. Ive also noticed in the last few days, the a/c blows a little moderate/warmer air while sitting at a red light or in traffic. Then on acceleration, it starts blowing colder. Would this be signs of a fan clutch on its way out??? Thanks in advance...

    Fan clutch or blown head gasket.

        Ok, Ill start with the fan clutch. I don't think its a blown head gasket. Im not losing or leaking fluid. Plus, no antifreeze in oil.

          Radiator air deflector will be a good thing to check. This may not be the cause, but I know it makes a difference.

            180 is overheating? A 160 t stat will generally run in the 175-180 range, 180 t stat @ 195 and a 195 t stat @ 210 in my experience. If your fox is on r134a, I would expect it to not cool as good at idle. That's one of it's downfalls over r12.

              David is right on on those temps per thermostat. My Fox has a 4 row Ford radiator, a dual electric fan, and I run a 180 thermostat. With AC on and 100 or less outside, I run right on 180 degrees. Any hotter, and I run about 190 degrees. I am on 134, and other than being a black car, it cools well. You do have to run a low pressure switch from a 1994 or at least one set for 134.

                    fan clutches wear out with age, they lose a % of their capacity through use . There are many different ones to choose from and different type of operating examples. And, many different price levels.
                    Don't worry about what you can't change.
