  • 99 Taurus heat control switch

I'v working on said car and the problem is that apparently the temp control switch is not working. I back flushed the heater core and it is free flowing in both directions. So I dont think this is the problem. I think that whatever controls the heater core plenum box is not working.

Is there a switch or something that I should be looking at?

If so does anyone know what it's called specifically?

    Any help is welcome, thanks.

    couple of things:

1, if it has the bypass hose that goes between the 2 heater core hoses clamp it off and see if you get heat. The heater core can flow good but still not produce good heat. There are many small passages in one and it's pretty well impossible to get them all clean if it's been plugged.

2, the blend door is most likely controlled by and electronic actuator. I've had to replace many actuators, and also the door will break where the actuator engages it. If I remember correct the blend door actuator on the taurus is on the top part of the hvac box. I think the dash has to be pulled back to access it.

I'm not at work so I don't have my data info handy. Hope this helps
