  • Mobile mechanics???

Anyone know or used a good one before? My truck has been sitting at my apartments for awhile now and they want it gone. It most likely something electrical, so someone with some good equipment (volt meter, test light ect..) should be able to track it down pretty quick.

    Any suggestions.

Since you did not give any info about vehicle year, make, model or problem...
DO NOT POKE AROUND ON A MODERN (let's say 1987+) CAR WITH A TEST LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah a little info would be nice. A test light or DMM and a fuse puller goes a long way depending on what it is doing.

Why is that?? I use them in newer cars all the time, not poking wires but at connections. To see if the compressors getting power and not coming on, or no power. What is the reason for not using one

So you just have to not ground anything out or short any wires, any better reasoning?? Or just dont use one if you dont know what you are doing?
I am not trying to argue, just trying to see if I am doing something wrong?

For one thing newer cars have lots of wiring and it usually small terminals used, the old school mechanics always go and jam there test lights to check them and spread the terminals. When that happens you get all kinds of intermittent or non working issues.
Another thing is that systems now are touchy, old stuff is usually 3 wire: power, ground, and maybe signal. On newer systems they can be 5volts, 3volts, and without a good wiring diagram its easy to do damage.
These are just a few but it you know some basic knowledge you might be ok

Sorry for the late response... Truck is a 95' dodge 1500. 2wd, 5.2l, 5 speed.

Few months ago it just spit and sputtered on the highway till it died. So first thought is it ran out of gas... It's always had a prob of doing this if I let it get below half a tank.

So I put some gas in it with no luck. It has no pressure at the schrader valve. I also checked the coil and its not jumping spark. So I have no spark and no fuel at the same time. I've checked all my fuses. Why would they stop working at the same time? My guess is maybe the computer or something with the ignition?

                    Any ideas?

                      ignition module?

this will usually cut the trigger to the injectors to prevent loads of raw fuel from being injected into the engine without spark to ignite it
