  • Nitrous Plate ?'s Standard vs Permiter vs Crossbar

My current setup is a NOS super powershot plate jetted @ 165hp on a Buick 231. The plan when the new motor (still 231) finally gets assembled is to jet for 250hp and run a progressive controller. I picked up a NOS Cheater Plate and solenoids years ago in anticipation of this. I remember seeing the ZEX Perimeter plate when they first came out and have seen Nitrous Express's Crossbar plate recently. I contemplated doing a fogger setup, but with the intake and motor being so small it gets pretty cramped with carb linkage, alternator, a/c, and wiring.

I'm looking for suggestions and personal experience on what has worked best for you nitrous guys. Also, at what point is it better to run 6an over 4?

I saw it momentarily while browsing their site the other day looking for info on a 2014 Coyote kit I wired for a friend. I didn't read into it, but looked at it again just now. Looks to accomplish the same task as a perimeter plate, just from the inside out rather than outside in. My intake will be a single plane open plenum so this is a very viable option. I will add that to my list of options.

I run a N2O Outlet 4150 style perimeter plate. Running a 200 shot on it currently, but may bump it up soon. No complaints on the product, works great every time.

Is the OCII's truck, the description here says it's running the puck setup, but I saw his post in the racing lounge where he was running the stinger plate.

I can't see the video but if it says the puck, that's what it is. I ran that when I had a Ls3. I now have a 430 inch LsX with the two piece Mast Intake, it splits in half so I use the Stinger plate. Same concept, it's just not mounted in the intake floor.

That must be you then. The spray pattern and simplicity of install makes the stinger plate very desirable. I'm assuming the Puck plumbs through the intake floor, feeds with hard lines to the rear of the intake, and back up behind the carb flange for connections to the solenoids?

According to Nitrous Outlets website, they are out of stock at the moment. Anyone have a hook up on parts from them?

Yes, the puck works just as well. Although I don't think it flows as much power vs the stinger. I know the stinger flows 580 hp, the puck, I am not sure.

I was very satisfied with the puck, nice and clean. Zero issues with either, made probably 150 passes on 100-300 shot on the stock shortblock with maybe one singed plug.

I'd likely do the stinger plate over the puck based on cost and simplicity alone. I remember thinking Zex perimeter plate was pretty cool when it came out, but in looking at video clips of it over the stinger and crossbar design (from Nitrous Express), it didn't atomize nearly as well or at least didn't have as nice a clouding/fog effect.

Call and talk to Mike, Dave is always busy and can't answer the phone always. They'll be more then happy to answer any and all questions you have. Their service sells the product IMO.
